A true hero! Balto was a Siberian Husky who became famous in 1925 when he traveled over a thousand kilometers in 27 hours. The race against time was to deliver antitoxin serum for diphtheria in Alaska. The regular delivery time would have been 25 days. Thanks to his courage in leading a team of sled dogs in minus 40 degrees Celsius, he saved the lives of many children. His bravery was portrayed in the movie “Togo.”
